Meet Pascal: Serving Up Success in the World of Online Ordering!
In the bustling world of online food ordering and restaurant management, one seasoned professional stands out—Pascal, a former pizza genius from the Netherlands turned key player at Menufy by HungerRush. His unique journey from a European pizzeria to the heart of Kansas City's diverse restaurant scene has equipped him with a blend of cultural insight and hands-on experience that sets him apart.
Join us as we jump into Pascal's background, his passion for connecting with restaurant owners, and his expertise in reshaping the landscape of online dining.
Meet Pascal!
What is your professional background?
I worked in a small pizzeria in the Netherlands during the summer. We had lots of visitors from other European countries. I loved interacting with people from different cultures and learning how to best serve our customers' diverse needs.
How do your past experiences help you serve our clients?
I understand the daily operations in a restaurant and the struggles that come from not having an online presence. I'm in a great position to help restaurants create an avenue for their customers to order directly from them and to help them see the value of staying connected and engaged with their loyal customer base!
What is your favorite part of your role at our Menufy by HungerRush organization?
I make connections with different restaurant owners from diverse backgrounds. I also love to consult and be able to help someone understand the value of our service. They get really excited, and that gets me excited!
If you could switch departments or roles for a day, which would you choose?
Probably Client Success; I would love to help restaurants utilize every feature in our product package and see them boost their order volume!
Which city do you call home, and what does the restaurant scene look like there?
Kansas City currently has a wide variety of cuisines! I love pretty much anything, so it's a good fit. However, BBQ is obviously what we're known for. I used to live in the Netherlands (the Hague), though, and what I miss from there that I need help finding in KC is Indonesian and Suriname food.
What is your favorite restaurant? What's your favorite dish from that restaurant?
I've been a loyal, weekly customer at Thai Place in Overland Park. My favorite dish is their Volcano Soup, and yes, it's as spicy as it sounds. I've never found a better Thai soup—and I've tried many. It's a spice/flavor bomb! Great soup for when you're sick, too; it "kills" everything, lol!
What is life like beyond the desk?
I do a lot of volunteer work, which keeps me busy. I am busy in a great way because it's the most satisfying and meaningful work in my life. I also like to unwind and take walks with my wife, get together with friends, play pickleball/soccer, hit the gym, spend time with family, and, at the end of the day, watch a movie/TV show.
Share one of your secret skills/talents!
I whistle—and people think there's a bird in the building when I do. 😂
If you could only eat one food/dish for a whole year, what would it be?
Probably Italian food…. I can't pick a dish, but if I have to choose a cuisine, Italian. Salad, pasta, pizza, wine—yes please!
Here’s what Pascal’s teammates have to say.
"Pascal is a tireless worker. He is one of the most motivated, devoted, and hardworking sales reps in the office. Not only does he take extra time for his restaurants, but he cares about their success. He has a great work ethic and chooses to do what's best for Menufy and our restaurants." - Bear Ziglari, Senior Inside Sales Representative.
“Pascal is a great team player. He is very proactive about putting in the time to excel in his work, and when he comes across opportunities that are a better fit for his peers in terms of language and culture, he doesn't hesitate to share for the benefit of the restaurant owner and Menufy. He is also fun to talk to but has a good head on his shoulders. Pascal is a good role model for me and everyone else around him.” - Moses Park, Inside Sales Representative.
“Pascal is an asset to the Menufy team. His curious nature leads him to discover opportunities to help restaurant operators grow their business and be more successful in ways beyond what Menufy can do alone. His dedication and commitment to doing the right thing make him a team leader by example, and our company is incredibly fortunate to have him on the team.” - Andy Lowder, Senior Sales Manager.
