The New Tasty Rewards

There’s a multitude of loyalty program options, including old-fashioned punch cards, swipe cards, and now apps. Loyalty programs target people who have already come to your restaurant and encourage them to return. Instead of casting a wide net to new customers, these programs reward existing customers. 

It’s far more cost-effective to keep a customer than it is to bring new ones through your door. 

In 2013, to help our restaurants retain customers and increase orders, Menufy created a free customer loyalty feature called Tasty Rewards. In fact, one in five restaurants that utilize Menufy online ordering also use this program to reward their regular customers!

But over the last year, our software engineers have upgraded our Tasty Rewards program to better serve our partners and their customers.

The New Features of Tasty Rewards

What is Tasty Rewards?

The newest version of Menufy's loyalty program, Tasty Rewards, is a digital punch card system that rewards customers for repeatedly ordering online from a restaurant. Every order racks up credit to be spent on future purchases.

Once the customer places a predetermined number of online orders from the same restaurant, they will be able to redeem their accrued credit. The online credit awarded per order will be a percentage of the order's subtotal (before tip, tax, and fees).

For example, if a restaurant chooses ten orders as the threshold for reward redemption, a customer can redeem their reward on the eleventh order.

Tasty Rewards now allows for maximum customization.

Restaurant owners can choose a name for the program and upload their own logo, making Tasty Rewards unique to their brand. 

Not only can restaurant operators change the look and feel of Tasty Rewards, but they can also adjust the reward settings to fit their needs.

Managers can customize the reward amount and decide how soon a customer can redeem the reward. There is also an option to give an extra reward boost to customers who place consecutive orders. 

If a restaurant decides to activate the reward multiplier, they can give customers an extra credit after a certain number of orders have been placed. For example, if a restaurant sets a 25% multiplier on the fifth consecutive order, then repeat customers will receive additional rewards.

Each Menufy restaurant decides how many orders must be completed before reward credit can be applied.

For example, if a restaurant rewards customers with a 10% credit for every order, then a $50 subtotal would give the customer $5 in credit back. Suppose a restaurant has decided that a customer must make five consecutive orders before redeeming their reward credit. In that case, the customer can only use their accumulated reward on their sixth order. 

The Tasty Rewards settings can be easily adjusted at any time in the Menufy Manager Portal.

How it works for restaurant customers

To enroll in Tasty Rewards and begin earning rewards, a customer must log in to the Menufy restaurant website via an Apple, Google, or Facebook sign-on. After a customer places an online order through Menufy, the earned reward for each applicable order will be displayed at the top of the checkout page. 

As long as a customer has been signing in through the same channel (Google, Facebook, or Apple), they will continue to rack up cash-back rewards. 

If the customer applies their reward balance, it has to be spent in full. If their reward doesn't cover the subtotal, then they still earn a new reward based on the subtotal minus the applied reward.

If the reward balance is greater than the order subtotal, the extra reward points will be forfeited.

Activate Tasty Rewards

Activating Tasty Rewards for your restaurant's website is as easy as flipping a switch. 

Visit the Menufy Manager portal, navigate to the left panel, and find Tasty Rewards under the "Discounts & Deals" tab. Once there, restaurant management can adjust their custom reward settings:

  1. Rewards % Per Order: The percentage of credit that customers receive on each online order.

  2. Number of Orders Needed To Redeem Reward: The frequency at which customers can redeem their reward on their next Menufy order at your restaurant.

  3. Number of Orders Until Reward Multiplier Applied: The frequency at which customers receive a reward multiplier (optional).

  4. Reward Multiplier %: The reward percentage multiplier once it’s been unlocked (optional).

  5. Custom Name: Brand your restaurant’s loyalty program with the name of your choice (optional).

  6. Custom Logo: Customize your loyalty program with a special graphic (optional).
