Associate Spotlight: Meet Aris!

The Menufy by HungerRush office is composed of many individuals across multiple departments who speak a variety of languages and are passionate about helping small restaurants succeed!

Arissara Lorance, a senior sales executive, is a perfect example of these important characteristics. Since joining the Menufy team in January 2020, Aris has assisted countless restaurant owners in searching for an online ordering solution priced right for their business.

Aris happily steps outside her sales responsibilities to help with team events and even provides English-to-Thai translations! Her coworkers all agree that she is a genuinely caring and positive person.

Because of her attitude and hard work, Aris was nominated for this month's Associate Spotlight.

We learned about her time in Thailand, what she loves about her current Menufy role, and how she spends her free time!

Meet Arissara!

What is your professional background?

After graduating from college, I worked for a logistics company in Bangkok, Thailand, that handled global air and sea freight. My first restaurant experience was after I moved to the States, where I had the opportunity to be a host, server, and restaurant manager.

How do your past experiences help you best serve our clients?

My previous work experience has helped me tremendously in understanding many aspects of the restaurant industry, including restaurant operations from an owner’s, staff member's, and customer's perspectives.

I was able to observe the obstacles that most restaurants have to overcome, such as staffing shortages and price increases due to supply chain challenges. I also got to see the difference between pre-COVID and post-COVID and the circumstances that affected restaurants in various ways.

The most eye-opening experience was being a part of Menufy. I am proud that we are able to provide an efficient solution for online ordering without requiring that restaurants pay a very heavy commission fee. Due to the variety of online ordering options in the market, we help educate clients about the differences between the services. I also am able to explain to clients how to get the most out of Menufy features such as our marketing program, which enables mom-and-pop restaurants to take control of technology to promote their business without relying on third parties!

What is your favorite part of your current role at Menufy?

At Menufy, I get to utilize my native language as a Thai sales and languages specialist. I like that, in my role, I can help clients understand how Menufy works on a deeper level and provide transparency of information. It is a huge benefit to share a cultural connection with my clients.

Moreover, small businesses sometimes create their own technology solutions, such as websites, online ordering processing, etc. Setting these up can be time-consuming, not to mention the time taken up by day-to-day operation and maintenance. But Menufy's team will help restaurants handle all the complex processes!

It is so rewarding when a referral comes in from a current client or from the community. It shows that they are confident and comfortable with our service and are voicing that to their friends and family who also own restaurants!

If you could switch Menufy departments for a day, which would you choose?

I would love to join the Developer team! It would be awesome to be able to create and develop several functional features and solve problems and make sure everything works as expected.

When you finally clock out, what do you like to do in your free time?

I love home cooking, so when I have a chance to go to a restaurant that serves really good dishes, I enjoy trying to crack the recipe code!

I also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, exploring a new city, and camping.

Do you have a favorite restaurant in town?

Courtesy of Pho La La.

It is hard to choose just one because each of my favorites has its own specialty. I like Pho La La, in the Lee's Summit area. Their food is very delicious.

I had the chance to go to the restaurant and observe the chef preparing food. They are very detailed and use authentic Vietnamese techniques. Combine that with a friendly, warm welcome from the owner and staff, and the food tastes even more like home.

Tell us about your love of Kansas City.

Kansas City is a very unique city in my experience. It's very diverse and has a little bit of everything combined from nature, culture, and city life.

I grew up with two seasons: a hot season and a VERY hot rainy season. But in Kansas City, I am very grateful to be able to experience the variety of four distinct seasons!

Thank you, Aris!

A part of Menufy's mission is to help every restaurant take control of its online presence and ordering process.
