Meet Laney
Menufy was still a growing company when we hired Elaina "Laney" Meyer to our sales team back in February 2018. She quickly became an invaluable team member and eventually accepted the role of sales trainer.
In this role, Laney works closely with our salespeople, educating new team members from the point of their initial hire and on an ongoing basis. She also is especially adept at identifying on-the-job obstacles and recommending ways to increase productivity.
Laney was nominated by her fellow sales team leaders to be featured in this month's associate spotlight! We spoke with Laney and learned what she enjoys most about her city and her role at Menufy by HungerRush.
What is your restaurant/professional background?
I worked in bar/grill-style restaurants up until my move from North Carolina to Kansas City, where I found Menufy! I served, bartended, and trained new servers.
How do your past experiences help you serve your current clients?
I feel that my experience working in restaurants has really helped me connect with restaurant owners while working at Menufy. Being able to "speak restaurant" and bond over restaurant horror stories helped me build those relationships and made my calls with Menufy clients more conversational.
Why is Menufy the best choice for restaurants looking for an online ordering solution?
I could spend ages answering this question!
What is your favorite restaurant?
Sake Lounge, for sure. It was one of the first restaurants I visited when I moved to KC, so it feels nostalgic to me, and the sushi is great. At the time, I had no idea what that jingling sound was that was coming from behind the host stand. Turns out it was a Menufy tablet getting online orders!
If you could switch Menufy departments for a day, which would you choose?
IT/Developers! In sales, we are always requesting new features, so it would be cool to see how the developers work their magic to make those things happen. I know it wouldn’t make any sense to me, as I know NOTHING about code or anything, but I think it would be cool to see how they do it.
What excites you about our company's future?
I’m really looking forward to seeing how we continue to develop the new marketing programs with HR360 Marketing. I went to school for marketing, and I’m really excited that we’re launching something to help restaurant owners re-engage their customers and redirect them from third parties to their own platform.
What do you love about Kansas City?
I moved from North Carolina to Kansas City to be closer to family and find my first job out of school. There were two things that were really important to me in the job hunt. 1) I wanted to work somewhere that was super diverse. 2) I wanted to find a job that I could be passionate about.
I love that Kansas City helped me find that. I love how diverse our company is. I’m proud to be able to help restaurant owners, and I’m really passionate about training new members of our team!
Also, the snow! We didn’t get much snow in NC, and I’m one of those crazy people that loves winter. 😍

If Laney does not know the answer to something (which is very rare), she knows exactly which person to talk to or where to look, and she is always willing to help!" -Ashley Day, Sales Manager
