Meet Erin
Erin Trampel, who joined Menufy in January of 2019, is a jack-of-all-trades for the design team. As the senior graphic designer, she flexes her creativity while building custom online ordering sites for our restaurant clients.
Erin is the creative genius behind all of Menufy's eye-catching demo websites as well as various branding updates over the years.
Her critical thinking and design insight improve our product, while her willingness to help coworkers across all departments (and her humor!) improves our workplace.
This week, we spoke with Erin about her design and restaurant industry journey, and we learned her impact on her colleagues!
Find out about her previous careers and how they have helped her create sleek designs for Menufy and our restaurant partners.
What is your professional background?
I've been a graphic designer for 10 years now. Before that, I worked as a catering waiter and in the Hy-Vee kitchen in college.
How do your past experiences enable you to help restaurant clients?
I've worked in both print and digital design and have worked in user experience design. This allows me to translate branding between mediums and make user-friendly websites.
I also do my best to be as honest as possible with all of our clients. If I don't know the answer to a question, I'm not going to make something up. Instead, I will admit that I don't know and try to find the answer.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I like our open atmosphere. No one in the company is unapproachable when there's a problem, so it's a lot faster to find solutions. I also like that our employees really care about online ordering and creating a product that best serves our restaurant partners.
We always do our best to make online ordering match a restaurant's brand and needs. We are very open to any ideas our customers have that might help improve our platform to give them the best product we can.
Why is Menufy different from other online ordering services?
A lot of other "free" websites are very generic and don't allow you to customize much, but we always want the websites to look like our restaurant clients' branding.
I also appreciate how open we are with our pricing structure. I can sometimes tell when I'm on the phone with restaurant owners that they've been hit before with hidden fees. I have to reassure them that any updates to their ordering website are free.
What is your favorite restaurant?
Empanada Madness, thanks to Sarai. If only they weren't so far from the office!
What do Erin's colleagues think about her?
"From the get-go, Erin has brought a vibrant splash of personality and professionalism to Menufy. If the saying is true that people eat with their eyes first, then Erin's designs offer a visual feast." -Marcus Walker, Client Services Manager
"Erin knows Menufy and how it operates so well. She is always able to provide a solution for any issues we run into. She also always keeps team conversations entertaining, even in online chats." -Lauren D'Angelo, Graphic Designer
"She’s proficient at HTML and CSS coding, she’s experienced and knowledgeable with both print and digital design, and she shares that knowledge with the rest of the team as the lone senior designer on staff. She’s quick and decisive with what she wants to do, so she works on a lot of projects that require a quick turnaround." -Daniel Cuellar, Data Entry and Design Manager
Thank you!
Menufy's design game has grown due to Erin's hard work and creative eye. We rely on her expertise to continually enhance the quality of the websites we build for our clients.
