Meet Stephanie: A Seasoned Website Designer

It may be hard to believe, but as of 2022, almost a third of small businesses still don't have websites. Many of Menufy by HungerRush’s restaurant partners are in the same boat.

One of our missions is to build free websites for our restaurant partners who don't have one or are looking for a fresh start. We have a talented team of in-house designers who are able to create and customize full-featured websites in as little as two days.

Today we highlight one associate who has been with Menufy since 2014 and has built hundreds, if not thousands, of restaurant websites, Stephanie Holloway!

As a graphic designer, Stephanie uses her considerable skills to create websites that match the personalities of each restaurant. Her artistry and industry experience are a valuable combination, making her uniquely prepared to help Menufy restaurants.

This week, we spoke with Stephanie about her professional journey and her passions outside of work.

Meet Stephanie!

What brought you to Menufy?

Back in 2009, I worked at a Marriott restaurant as a lead position. About a year later, I accepted a position in the HR department in that same hotel, where I stayed until 2011. After staying home with my babies, I started at Menufy in 2014 as a web designer and have been here since.

What do you enjoy about your current role?

I like being able to design a website for a client that they like and are happy with. It's been great being able to help out our restaurant partners through the years with their design updates. And I love finding solutions. If a customer has an idea but it won't work with how our site builder works, I enjoy being able to suggest ways around it that will work just as well and that the client is satisfied with.

How do your past experiences help you best serve our clients?

As a person who also orders online from restaurants from time to time, I have come across some frustrating online ordering websites with designs that hurt your eyes and are not very customer friendly. So I keep that in mind when I'm designing Menufy websites. It helps me design a site that is ADA compliant, and I also keep the branding of the restaurant in mind to make it their own and make it pretty.

If you could switch Menufy departments for a day, which would you choose?

Project Coordinators! That is the department I communicate with the most with my work, and so it would be fun to see what it's all about. It would be fun to see the entire process, from the beginning to having a client go live with their online ordering and everything in between.

What is your favorite restaurant? And what do you order?

Lemon Grass in Overland Park, KS. I love their chicken pad Thai and their spring rolls.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Running, baking, traveling back to my home country, Switzerland, and spending time with my family!

What is your favorite restaurant/cooking show, and why?

I do not watch much TV, but I've seen a few episodes of Nailed It! with my kids, and it makes us laugh!

What do you love about Kansas City?

I actually live in Iowa, about three hours away from Kansas City. But when I come visit with my family, we enjoy the parks and museums and restaurants that serve food we might not have in Des Moines, such as Korean BBQ.

"Stephanie is such a valuable part of the design team! She’s a very skilled site designer who has created some of the best-looking sites that we have. And even though she works remotely from Iowa, she’s always been a leader for the team and has a good rapport with everyone. She helps new employees learn and get acclimated to the position. She’s meticulous, yet positive and friendly, when reviewing the work of her peers. She is also one of the best on the team at giving thoughtful, well-written responses to owners and does her best to answer questions that fall outside the design team’s expertise. She’s a pleasure to manage because I never have to worry about her production, quality of work, or professionalism!" -Daniel Cuellar, Data Entry and Design Manager

"Stephanie joined us during Menufy's early years and increased the website design throughput while our business gained momentum. Stephanie is creative, detail-oriented, and reliable, and her online ordering menus are often showcased to prospective partner restaurants." -Jeremy Kuo, Director of Marketing.
