Since joining the Menufy team in early 2021 as our IT administrator, Kellan Hetrick has been a crucial part of maintaining a robust operation for our associates and customers.
He keeps our office system running smoothly and is quick to solve problems as they arise.
Kellan is dependable by nature and demonstrates extraordinary patience while finding technical solutions for his colleagues in the Kansas City office.
Because of Kellan's dedication to the team and to our restaurant partners, he has been nominated for this month's associate spotlight.
We chatted with Kellan to find out about his passion for restaurants, technology, and Kansas City.
Meet Kellan
What is the origin story of your experience in restaurants and tech?
I worked in restaurants throughout college and for a number of years afterward. I bartended, served, managed the expo line, and ran deliveries. One summer, I even split my shifts between line cook and bartender! But for the last 15 years, I've worked in IT or technology-focused roles.
How do your past experiences help you with your position at Menufy?
Having worked in the restaurant industry for so long in a number of different roles, I think I have some insight into the challenges restaurants face and the time pressures inherent in the business. I am always happy to be available at times that work for our clients and to walk them through the domain and technical questions that they have.
What do you enjoy about your current role?
I love working on a wide variety of issues and supporting both our clients and my colleagues with IT and technical assistance.
Which local restaurant is your favorite?
Our favorite local restaurant that we've discovered so far is Thai Spice.
Which department would you be curious to work in for a day?
I'd choose Performance, I think. There's a lot I could learn from their expertise with Google Listings and SEO, in addition to everything else they do.
What excites you about the future of Menufy?
Menufy by HungerRush has a great suite of services that get clients up and running quickly, with an excellent team to back them up. We can help a restaurant that just has a Facebook page stand up online ordering and payment processing on their new custom website in a matter of days, as well as helping them navigate Google Listings, delivery partnerships, and a host of other features. This is provided at low to no cost to the restaurant and is just a great product.
What do you love about Kansas City?
My family moved to the area just a couple of years ago, and it's been such a great place to live. People are incredibly friendly, there are amazing parks and museums everywhere, and we've had a lot of fun exploring the city and surrounding areas. There are a ton of local restaurants and breweries to try, and we have plenty of day trips in Kansas and Missouri planned for the future.
